Patrick H. Madden -- Professional Activities
- Currently vice-chair of of ACM/SIGDA.
SIGDA is the design automation interest group of ACM, and sponsors a
dozen conferences, symposia, and workshops around the world. As
vice-chair, my primary activity is in reviewing event budgets, and
working with conference organizers to help their events run
smoothly. I am also the contact for the ICCAD CADathlon, an event
modeled after the ACM programming contests, but with a strong
emphasis on design automation research topics.
Previously, I upgraded the SIGDA web site, ran the University Booth
for a few years, and helped out with the Design Automation Summer
School.
- I am the faculty advisor for the Binghamton student chapter of the ACM, and the advisor/coach for the ICPC team. Our team went to world finals a few years ago.
- I was the general ISPD, and
will be the steering committee chair for 2008.
- I'm the general chair for EDP 2008.
- I'm an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Computer Aided
Design, handling the special issues related to ISPD for 2006 and
2007.
- I am on the technical program committees of ASPDAC, GLSVLSI,
ISPD, and EDP; I am also on the best paper selection committee for
ICCAD.
- I'm a regular reviewer for ACM TODAES, IEEE TCAD and TCS, and a
variety of other journals.
- In 2002, I co-chaired GLSVLSI.
